First, I started with styling my hair. Doing this hairstyle is way harder than people who make tutorials make it look, but I figured it out. With the help of my mother, we back-combed my hair, molded it into spike shapes, and used a lot of hairspray to make it stay in place. We also used a hairdryer to make the hair spray dry faster. I left out my bangs and some hair in the back, because I was going to stand against a wall anyway, so the spikes in the back would have just gotten in the way. I did my makeup using eyeliner and black and red eyeshadow. I noticed that with a lot of these alternative looks, makeup never looks very perfect or polished, so I didn't focus on making it look "clean". I then put on my blazer and necklaces and I was ready to start. Here are some photos from the process of getting ready.

Now came the time to set up my camera and start taking photos. I put the camera on my tripod, and plugged in the light. I had my mom press on the photo button, because I didn't have a way to take the photos myself. I played around with different exposure levels, and my mom held the light in different angles for some variation in the photos. I took a few pictures with my electric guitar, but I didn't end up using them. I loved the process, I felt very cool and confident and I will definitely try this hairstyle again if the occasion arises.

After the photoshoot, I ended up with around 150 photos. From those I selected around 60, all with different angles, then I selected my favourites and airdropped them to my tablet to edit in Procreate. Initially, I had the light in the hallway turned on, but then I turned it off and saw that like that I could achieve the contrast that I wanted. Here are some of my favourite unedited shots.

In Procreate, I played around with the settings in the app to get the look that I wanted. For the album title, I chose to draw a hollow block letter font in all caps, like in the original cover. For the artist's name, Waterparks, I wanted to switch up the font. Depending on the angle of the apple pen and the speed at which you draw with, you get different line weights and shapes. I played around with that using a brush that I use a lot until I liked how it looked. I then added the explicit content sticker that is on the album too. I will insert time lapses with my process here.

I tried to see how the font would look in blue, because I kind of wanted to incorporate the blue from the little frog that's on the initial album cover. But, as you can see, it was just too dark and wasn't visible enough, so I just stuck with the white.

preliminary task 3- research and planning

For my final preliminary task, I chose to create a short lyric video. This will help me with my main task because I will be able to try and take the lyrics from a song and turn them into visuals that
