On the day I set up to film, there wasn't any sun unfortunately because it is still winter here, but thankfully it only started raining after I was already home from filming.

Filming went pretty well, I took all of the shots that I needed and I quite enjoyed it. I will add some bts photos here.

When I got home, I roughly arranged the clips in the order that I wanted them to be. I sent the draft to my tutor for some feedback. Following her suggestions, I moved the clips around a little so that they would match the beats more.

I then moved onto the colouring. After I added some transitions between the clips, I got the idea to have the first half of the video be really saturated and colourful and the second half where the clips are reversed to be dull and desaturated to have that contrast that I wanted.

Working in final cut pro was really fun; whenever I try out a new software I try to kind of figure it out on my own because watching tutorials before even trying to use the program is quite overwhelming for me. I will insert some screenshots with my search history because I think it's funny and it really shows the process and what I struggled with. Now that I have figured out the basics and familiarised myself with the interface, I will definitely watch some more in-depth tutorials.

Now came the time to draw the font. I had the idea to kind of "animate" some of the more important words from the lyrics. For the most part, I chose to draw out a font that was squiggly and almost "childish" but that also feels a little melancholic while still being readable. for the words I highlighted, I just wrote them in a clear simple font. I also added doodles around them and exported them in three different sizes so that I could edit them getting bigger and then smaller, to kind of incorporate that "stop motion" feel that I wanted originally. I drew out the title in a similar font to the lyrics and I wrote the band name too so that I could put them at the end of the video. Here are the fonts.

I will also attach here the video before I adjusted the clips to be more on beat, and before I added any effects and the lyrics.

preliminary task 3- research and planning

For my final preliminary task, I chose to create a short lyric video. This will help me with my main task because I will be able to try and take the lyrics from a song and turn them into visuals that
