research into conventions - minor tasks

For the minor tasks, I also made some notes with what I found on several sources online

DIGI PACK

• digipacks are gatefold cd packages usually made of card-stock; they feature 4- 6 pannels and they are used to provide a cd, sometimes extra media like lyric booklets and they enhance the artists branding

• usual cd jewel cases are made only of plastic, but digipacks are made of card-stock with a plastic holder only for the cd

• visually the important elements listed below have to be cohesive in their look and mesages, without overpowering the over all design and ensuring that all text is readable

• front cover and imagery - the front cover has the cover of the album, that usually shows a high-quality image of the artist or a symbolic image that relates to the themes and mood of the album

• artist name & album title - the artist’s name and album title are clear and visible using fonts that match the genre of the album; for consistency reasons, a digipak will usually only use up to 3 fonts

• colour scheme - a consistent colour scheme is used all through out the digipack; this helps reinforce the artist’s branding and creates a clear visual identity that audiences can then associate with the artist and album

• back cover - clearly displays the track list, record label, copyright information and a barcode

• inner panels  - the inside of the digipack can include lyrics, extra images and messages from the artist

• cd design - often include artwork that matches the albume theme and message, rather than being plain

• finishes - often uses matte or glossy UV coating for a professional, premium feel

• verified badge - most official accounts of popular artists have a blue verified badge next to the name, to confirm that it is the authentic and real account of the artist (important to note that while a lot of accounts apply for verification, since february 2023 you can buy verification on Instagram through the meta verified subscription service)

• simple username - the username has to be clear and easy to remember, ideally matching the artists name directly, without unnecessary numbers or symbols

• clear name fiels - the name field bellow the profile photo should provide the official name of the artist

• professional account - artists instagram accounts are often switched from personal to business or creator profiles

• bio - the bio should be short and concise and include a link to an official website for tickets, merch, etc

• profile picture - should be a high quality photo depicting either a professional photo of the artist or the official logo
